General Membership Meeting Minutes
January 12, 2012

President Jim Roberts welcomed everyone to today’s membership meeting and gave special thanks to today’s event sponsors:

  1. The following new members joined the association in the past month:

  2. Financial Report:  Treasurer/Fire Chief Andy Pless reported that there is $24,724.17 in the checking account.  Call for a motion to accept Treasurer’s Report.
  3. Two names will be on the February ballot for Sergeant at Arms position – Chuck Hubbard (Ann Arbor) and Mel Moore (Wayne).
  4. February 9th meeting will be held in Dearborn at Park Place Banquet Center, with special guest Mike McCall, an attorney for VFIS.
  5. March 8th meeting will be at Petruzzello’s in Troy.  Presentations from the US Consumer Product Safety Commission, as well as MABAS.
  6. Our annual Midwest Fire Rescue Expo is April 12, 2012 in Novi.  General Attendee RSVP, as well as Exhibitor Registration is available on the website.   Sustaining memberships must be paid in full prior to displaying at the show.
  7. MAFC’s 2012 Winter Workshop is planned for February 24 & 25, 2012 at the H Hotel in Midland.  For more information and registration details, go to their website MiChiefs.org.
